Missile Man of India - Dr APJ Abdul Kalam

Legends are born once in a century and are remembered for millennial to come. One such great personality Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15th Oct, 1931 in Rameswaram of Madras Presidency to a poor Tamil Muslim family. Dr Kalam believe that 

All us do not have equal talent but, all us have an equal opportunity to develop our talents.

Kalam completed his early education from Schwartz Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram and moved to Saint Joseph's college, Tiruchirappalli from where he graduated in Physics in 1954. In 1955 he moved to Madras Institute of Technology to study Aerospace Engineering.

After graduation from Madras Institute of Technology, Kalam joined DRDO (Defense research and Development Organisation) as Scientist but he was not convinced with  his job so joined the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) as project director of India's first Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV -III) program which successfully deployed the Rohini satellite in near-earth orbit. Later on Dr Kalam also worked on more successful projects like Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) and SLV-III projects. Using the technology of successful SLV programme Kalam started working on development of ballistic missile. As a chief executive of Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP) Kalam played a major role in developing many missile including Agni - an intermediate range ballistic missile and Prithvi- the tactical surface to surface missile. He also played a major political and technological role during Pokharan-II nuclear tests.

It is very easy to defeat someone but, it is very hard to win someone.

Kalam was elected as 11th President of India and served country from July 25, 2002 to July 25, 2007. Due to his great personality and nature he was referred as the People's President. He devoted his life to Education,Writing and public Service and lived for the betterment of Country and mankind in all possible way. He was honoured with several prestigious awards including multiple honorary doctorates from different Universities, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna- India's highest civilian award. On July 27, 2015 India lost a true Patriot, a great Scientist, an incredible Engineer, a great Educator and the greatest Indian.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam is inspiration to India, his noble thoughts  have changed life of millions. lets remind his few words again:

Don't take rest after your first victory because if you fail in second, more lips are waiting to say your first victory was just luck.

Men needs difficulties in life because they are necessary to enjoy success.

I am not handsome but I can give my hands to someone who need help.... because beauty is required in heart not in face.

To succeed in life and achieve results, you must understand and master three mighty forces— desire, belief, and expectation.

why be afraid of difficulties, sufferings and problems? When troubles come, try to understand the relevance of your sufferings. Adversity always presents opportunities for introspection.
